Introduction — Silver Jubilee perspective
The Silver Jubilee of SDFI invites us to rejoice, remember with gratitude, and reflect on how to walk more fruitfully from Silver to Golden years. Every President and her team have contributed to the history of the Forum. From 2010 to 2016, Sr. Dr. Lucian served as 4th President of the Forum.
Office at St. Mary’s Hospital, Malur: In the initial years SDFI had its office at St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore; later it moved to CHAI headquarters in Secunderabad. From 2010 onwards the functioning office is at St. Mary’s Hospital, Malur, Kolar District, Karnataka.
Prior permission (MHA): Receiving prior permission from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India (2010–2013), enabled financial support from Misereor, Germany, to be received directly by the Forum.

Conference themes (first term)
Children’s Health, Nation’s Health — 2010: With the launching of “Save the Girl Child,” the theme continued and was appreciated and supported by the Vatican and Vatican Radio as well as people across India.
Youth, the Nation’s Heartbeat — 2011.
Let the Girl Child Live — 2012: A nationwide campaign on “Save the Girl Child.”

2013
Re-election & Golden Jubilee of St. John’s Medical College
The year 2013 was unique: the 19th CME and AGBM were held along with the Golden Jubilee celebrations of St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore — the alma mater of most Sister Doctors. The College acknowledged the work of Sister Doctors and gave an award to SDFI. Sr. Dr. Lucian was re-elected for a second term. Prior permission for FCRA expired in 2013; the Forum applied for permanent FCRA registration from MHA, Government of India.

Growing old gracefully and fruitfully — 2016.At the 2016 AGBM in Bhopal, Sr. Dr. Beena UMI was elected as the 5th National President. There was a mutual understanding that Sr. Dr. Lucian would continue to work on FCRA until it was received.

Programme highlights
Continuing Medical Education for Sister Doctors: six times at national level and 42 times at regional level.
Holistic health awareness in schools and anaemia eradication: 44 schools (2010–2013) and 52 schools (2013–2016), plus remote villages across India.
Training in ultrasonography (Coimbatore) and palliative care (MNJ Regional Palliative Care Centre, Hyderabad) — 30 Sister Doctors trained.
Disaster management in flood relief in Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Chennai, and earthquake-stricken Nepal.
Nationwide and regional “Save the Girl Child” campaign; awareness in sexual and reproductive health for women and adolescents; updating knowledge for 11 Sisters as lab technicians in rural areas.
